Scholarship Award
Award Amount:

$1,000 each Freshman and Sophomore years
·
$1,500 Junior Year
·
$2,000 Senior Year
Eligibility:
- Son or daughter of
a CCS member in good standing
- Applicant must be
a senior in high school planning to attend an institution of higher learning during the
ensuing Fall term.
- Preference given
to those students majoring in a science
- Applicant must
fill out application, submit paper and copy of SAT or ACT scores
- Applicant can not
be a current CCS Continuing Education Scholarship winner
- Continuity of
award depends on several factors:
- The financial
stability of the Society. The award may be
decreased in any given year according to the financial status of the Society.
- Student must
annually submit proof of GPA (3.0 minimum) and major to continue scholarship award in
Sophomore, Junior and Senior years.
- Parent of student
must continue to be a member of the CCS in good standing.
- Application can be
typed or hand written
- High School
transcripts including:
1. ACT or SAT Scores
2. Accumulative grade point average
3. Class standing
- Letters of
recommendation from any of the following sources: (minimum 3 letters total)
1. Education (teacher, counselor or
administrator)
2. Business (supervisor)
3. Personal (friend or relative)
4. Athletic supervisor
- Essay consisting
of 200-500 words
1. Subject matter may include topics
such as:
a. How you would chose your
career
b. What you hope to do with your
degree
c. Other goals outside of your
education
d. Describe different paint systems
used in the coatings industry, give the pros and cons of each system and explain where
used in the industry
2. Topic of your choice
- All applications
will be judged in several categories in comparison with others by the Board of Directors
of the CCA
- All decisions are
final
